Refugee Support - Project Volunteer (Hackney - Women's group - Q2-35)

British Red Cross volunteers help thousands of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants every year enabling people to draw upon their own strengths to withstand crisis and rebuild their lives.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to attend and support the weekly group for asylum seeking/refugee women and help to build up professional relationships with the group. We need volunteers who can commit for at least 6 months and can attend on Wednesdays 10am-1pm. You may be asked to facilitate sessions and lead on activities where required.

**Due to the nature of the role and people you will be support we will only be able to accept applications from females over the age of 18. **

If have any additional skills, it can be helpful and french speakers will be particularly useful.

Our project volunteers help the team as they support refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants adjusting to life in a new country and access the help they need. Providing emotional support is critical due to the range of vulnerabilities of people using our service.

We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience of being a refugee or asylum seeker.
