Community Connector Support Volunteer (Glasgow)
1 in 5 people in the UK say they are lonely, and this can have a devastating impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Our volunteers help people to gain confidence so that they can reconnect with their local community, knowing they are not alone.
If you are compassionate, like helping and meeting people then this could be the role for you.
Our volunteers provide in person outreach support to individuals on a weekly basis for up to 12 weeks at a time, but volunteers can also help provide regular befriending call support over the phone.
We are looking for volunteers from across Glasgow and Renfrewshire who:
• Can commit to volunteer at least half a day per week – Monday to Friday
• Are able to drive and have use of a vehicle, this is preferred if providing outreach support but not essential. If you will be driving for this role you need to have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK.
• Have good communication skills.
• Are warm, friendly and able to empathise with others.
• Are reliable and passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.
****Health and Safety Statement ****
