Emergency Response Volunteer (South West London)

When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, we’re among the first to respond. From making a cup of tea to deliver the essentials, we work with other organisations to do what’s needed straight away.

• This is a 24 hour service.

• We are recruiting for volunteers based in surrounding boroughs including Merton, Lambeth, Croydon, Sutton, Kingston & Wandsworth who live within 45 minutes travelling time from the base at British Red Cross office, Wimbledon (SW19 4EE).

• Driving is essential for this role; you should have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK.

• Available to be on-call for 2 X 12 hour shifts a month on a rota basis covering a 24/7 rota. We are looking for varied availability including day time, night time and weekends.

• Able to regularly attend team meetings once a month, in the early evening at British Red Cross UK office in 44 Moorfields, London EC2Y 9AL.

• Ability to commit to ongoing service specific training.

• Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
