Shop Volunteer (Till & Customer Service - Ferryhill)
Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shops rely on our volunteers to keep them running successfully.
We are currently looking for Till & Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop. If you have a positive outlook, enjoy speaking to new people and are confident in learning how to use a till, this may be something for you.
Till and Customer Service volunteer typical activities:
Using the shop till to take payment for donated items.
Promoting Gift Aid to maximise our fundraising potential.
Taking donations
Helping and advising customers
Undertaking general activities in the shop
No experience is needed, and full training will be provided.
This role may suit people who wish to gain experience in retail, someone with retail experience and skills they wish to pass on to others or simply anyone who wants to get involved with their local shop!
When can I volunteer?
A few hours a week – as agreed with the shop manager.
There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours, we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change.
