Volunteer Driver (Omagh - Pop-Up in Enniskillen)
If you enjoy driving and like meeting people, this is the role for you. You’ll be delivering wheelchairs to people locally or further afield to help them get moving again after illness or injury.
Ideally you will live within 10 miles of the equipment collection point at the British Red Cross office in Omagh (BT78 5EJ).
The role will involve loading the van at the start of the day at the Omagh office, travelling to the pop-up service location in Enniskillen to deliver the service and travelling back to the office in Omagh and unloading the van.
We would like volunteers who;
- Can commit on a regular weekly basis.
- Can volunteer to cover one shift each week on Friday, from 9am to 2pm.
- Can commit to volunteering for a minimum of 12 months.
- Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK and be willing to drive a British Red Cross vehicle.
Please note this role will involve some manual handling, moving and lifting of mobility aids equipment.
Diversity is something we celebrate. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to the Red Cross and feel that you belong.
We want to create an inclusive environment, and promote and spread the power of kindness.
As part of creating an inclusive space we have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for expenses linked to your role. If up front costs are difficult, you can speak to your volunteering manager about this to find alternatives.
We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us.
We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone.
Health and Safety Statement
We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety.
We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need.
